Five years from site plan to finished complex

It was in 2021 that the Albany Planning Commission approved the site plan for a 22-unit apartment complex on Salem Avenue. Now the project has been built, and it looks almost ready for people to move in.

When I stopped there on a bike ride Tuesday, work was finished for the day. From the outside just about everything looked complete.

For some reason, the developer calls the complex “Salem Crossings.” Which is a little ironic, because when it was approved five years ago the city specified a raised median on Salem Avenue to keep apartment traffic from crossing the street here…
