Taste your way through Inland Northwest’s new eateries; plus, other springtime food events

If the warm weather has you itching (and it’s not just allergies) to get outside, there are plenty of new eateries to explore and foodie events to get your fill at. Cheers with the fam at one of the area’s many Mother’s Day events, or give back to the community through food-based fundraisers.

OPENINGS

Up until a year ago, Coeur d’Alene was in a donut drought since go-to spot Davis Donuts closed in 2021. Last year, Lantern Donuts and Blvd Doughnut Co. opened, helping fill demand for the carby treats.

Last month Holy Donuts LLC hopped onto the North Idaho donut train, opening at 6055 N. Government Way. The family-owned and -operated shop serves a variety of freshly made donuts along with a full espresso bar. If you’re on the go, the location also has a drive-thru.

Treat lovers may also be pleased to hear that a new microbakery, called The Bughouse Bakery, is slinging loaves of sourdough and scratchmade cookies in Spokane’s Browne’s Addition. Preorders are open Sunday through Thursday, with links and more information available on Instagram: @bugs.bread.
