Joint operation in Oildale clears homeless encampments, ends with arrests and citations

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Seven people were arrested and six dogs were removed by animal control after a joint operation to remove homeless encampments in Oildale.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on April 30, 2026, in coordination with Kern County Code Compliance and Kern County Public Works, conducted a joint operation in the removal of homeless encampments in Oildale.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested seven people for felony and misdemeanor warrants, cited two individuals for trespassing, and had six dogs removed by animal control.
