Brother Martin senior Bronson Leaumont fouled off two straight pitches before ripping a double down the left-field line in the bottom of the seventh inning against St. Thomas More.
Leaumont’s seventh inning hit was the game-winner for Brother Martin in Game 1 of a best-of-three Division I select semifinal series. Brady McCluskey scored from second base to break a tie in the final frame for a 2-1 Crusaders win Thursday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
A junior, McCluskey led off the inning with a single to left and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by junior Tyler Durand. McCluskey scored the winning run with ease on Leaumont’s double down the line to give Brother Martin a1-0 series lead in the Division I select semifinals…
