A massive floating homeless encampment built on an idyllic stretch of Hawaiian shoreline that has outraged locals for years is finally being dismantled, according to the Daily Mail.
Dozens of makeshift watercrafts of dubious seaworthiness housing a growing number of people have bobbed in a stream in the Honolulu neighborhood of Kalihi, less than five miles from the Pearl Harbor naval base.
While many of the waterborne hovels are little more than jerry-rigged rafts and kayaks, one was a two-story, 600-square-foot pontoon that had two commercial-grade kitchens, tiled floors, several sleeping areas and air conditioning.
