Caleb Burke, brother of musician David Burke-known professionally as D4vd-has publicly voiced support for the late Celeste Rivas Hernandez amid the ongoing investigation into her tragic death.
Hernandez, 14, was found deceased in September 2025 in Los Angeles, her body discovered in a black bag inside a Tesla registered to D4vd. Following the discovery, David Burke was arrested on April 16, 2026, facing charges including murder, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, and mutilation of a body. The case has drawn significant media attention and prompted an investigative grand jury subpoena for members of the Burke family, which they have contested.
Despite the family’s legal battles, Caleb Burke, 18, chose to speak out on social media. In an Instagram story, he expressed his desire for justice for Celeste and her family, emphasizing caution due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
He stated, “I’ve been wanting to say something for a while, but I have to be careful… I want justice for Celeste and her family.”
Caleb denied any attempts to shield his brother, clarifying that he has not lived with David for several years and that their relationship has been distant. He noted, “We didn’t speak often other than when our family was brought on tour or he was visiting home.”
Addressing his own public identity, Caleb explained efforts to distinguish himself from David professionally. Previously performing under the name “Cvleb,” he has recently adopted the stage name “Kova” for new music releases.
He acknowledged having met Hernandez a few times but stated he was unaware of her age and was only 15 at the time. Responding to a video showing him with Hernandez backstage at a D4vd concert, Caleb clarified that the footage was taken after the show had ended and that Hernandez was already present at the venue.
Despite the turmoil surrounding his family, Caleb is moving forward with his music career. He emphasized that his recent releases are not intended to capitalize on the situation but are a genuine continuation of his passion.
Notably, his new song “Imaginary Love” was released days before David Burke’s arrest. Caleb wrote, “My decision to continue releasing music is not about using any of this for attention.
Music is my life, and after stepping away for months because of everything that’s happened, I want to build my own path.”
Meanwhile, David Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The case remains under investigation as the community awaits further developments.
