Clermont County man admits to conning victims out of more than $1M

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – A Clermont County man pleaded guilty to 15 counts of grand theft for an investment scheme.

Cody Clay Winn was originally indicted on 102 counts.

The investigation started in October 2024 when someone from California said they’d given $25,000 to someone named Cody Clay with Market Modern LLC. Clay promised a full return on their investment in three months, followed by additional profits. The money was supposed to go to the creation of an automated Amazon store.
