RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Former Riviera Beach police officer Carl Johnson’s bid for acquittal following his vehicular homicide conviction was denied Wednesday, but a Palm Beach County judge set a hearing next week on allegations of juror misconduct.
The judge also granted a motion allowing Johnson to remain free on bond pending his sentencing on July 7.
According to court documents, an alternate juror allegedly made political comments during deliberations about President Donald Trump being a felon, prompting other jurors to ask him to stop.
