Friday kicked off on a comfortable note in El Paso, with cool, sunny skies, temperatures in the mid 50s, and pleasant dewpoints. That calm start will not last long. Temperatures are set to climb quickly into the upper 80s by afternoon, with mostly clear skies hanging on into tonight. By late day, expect some gustier breezes and very dry air that will prime the area for a much hotter, drier weekend.
This Afternoon And Friday Night
Sunshine will push today’s high to around 87°F, with skies staying mostly clear into the night and lows dropping to about 61°F. There is a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm over parts of eastern Hudspeth County Friday evening (May 8); any cell that does pop up could bring brief gusty outflow winds. According to the National Weather Service, humidity across the lowlands will tumble into the single digits this afternoon, which will heighten fire weather concerns.
