LUBBOCK, Texas — Court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Friday revealed additional information about the arrest of Gene Paul Davis, 65, who was accused of striking and killing a pedestrian, Francis Romanofski, 70, during a police chase on Thursday.
Documents state Davis was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on West Loop 289 with an expired registration when officers attempted a traffic stop. Instead of stopping, Davis fled, leading officers on a pursuit through South Lubbock.
Davis fled and drove his vehicle through the neighborhood and worked his way back to West Loop 289. Once he reached West Loop 289 again, he continued to evade southbound on West Loop 289…
