The St. Johns Bridge reopened Friday evening after a rush-hour closure that lasted more than an hour.
Portland Fire & Rescue closed the bridge just before 4 p.m. after a person climbed over the railing and onto a ledge below the bridge deck.
A rescue worker was lowered by rope to reach the person, who jumped, the Fire Bureau posted on X. A fire boat crew pulled the person from the water and brought them to a waiting ambulance on shore. Fire officials said the person’s condition was not known…
