Gloomy start to Mother’s Day weekend

Not the best start to Mother’s Day weekend as an area of low pressure moves into the northeast. Light, scattered rain showers moved through the region Saturday morning as the warm front associated with this system lifted through the region, but since then, it’s been more clouds than anything.

Expected lots of clouds for a good portion of the day, with rain chances fairly low. It is not until the late afternoon/early evening, between 4 PM and 7 PM, that the radar fills back in as the cold front swings in from the west.

The cold front will bring widespread steady rain to the area, along with embedded downpours. This will last for several hours before the storm system pulls away by midnight. Expected 0.25 to 0.75 inches of rainfall depending…..
