WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The Whispering Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary rescued six horses Friday after the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Wayne County Dog Warden asked them to remove the horses from their former owner.
The Medina sanctuary was first contacted by Wayne County agencies at 3 p.m. and arrived at the horses at 5 p.m.
From the sanctuary, the horses were described as living in “unimaginable conditions,” with bodies “little more than skin stretched over bones.”
