A 66-year-old man died on Saturday after a train hit him in what police called a “tragic accident.”

Decatur Police Department (DPD) officers said an Amtrak passenger train hit a 66-year-old man on Saturday after 10:45 a.m. after he walked around the railroad crossing arms at south Williams Street, not aware of the incoming train.
Police do not suspect any foul play and described the incident as a “tragic accident.”
