Woman dies in Des Moines shooting, DMPD says victim of domestic violence

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says the victim in Friday’s downtown Des Moines shooting has died after being shot by her ex-boyfriend.

Des Moines Police say the shooting, which involved two people and a dog, occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Friday along the 800 block of Tuttle Street. At the time of their arrival, authorities said both persons were in critical condition, and DMFD rescue crews began life-saving measures, including CPR on both persons.

Friday afternoon, police announced that the man, identified as 50-year-old Abdul Jabbar Jackson, had been pronounced dead at the scene. At that time, officials said the woman had been transported to the hospital and remained in critical condition…
