Iowa bowler leads Standard All-Events at 2026 Open Championships

RENO, Nev. – Joshua Langholdt of Charter Oak, Iowa, put together the highest overall performance within the young history of the Standard Division during his trip to the 2026 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships, recording a 2,028 all-events rating to take the lead.

The 37-year-old right-hander rolled to sets of 706 in singles, 674 in doubles and 648 in team on the National Bowling Stadium, passing the 1,963 posted by Tommy Tran of Port Arthur, Texas, on April 12. The 706 series also places Langholdt in ninth for Standard Singles.

The previous nine-game record within the division, which debuted on the 2017 USBC Open Championships, belonged to Matt Garcia of Long Beach, California. Garcia posted 2,003 on his solution to victory on the 2024 event in Las Vegas…
