Governor Spanberger to sign landmark paid family, medical leave law

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — Governor Abigail Spanberger will sign the landmark legislation on Monday, May 11, to create a paid family and medical leave program to support the more than 3 million Virginians who lack access to paid family leave.

The signing will be held in the West Reading Room of the Patrick Henry Building, 111 East Broad Street, Richmond, at 2:30 p.m.

Spanberger will be joined by legislators, business leaders, and families who will now be able to welcome a new child, care for loved ones, and recover from illnesses without sacrificing their pay.
