First-of-its-kind kitchen tech at the Sioux Falls Village

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – At the Good Samaritan Society Sioux Falls Village there’s around 11 hundred meals made every single day. And now, they’re all cooked along a new line of equipment from the company Unox.

It starts with an oven that combines three different types of cooking methods — convection heat, air circulation and steam.

“The speed that things cook in was very surprising. Old traditional convection ovens, you know, you’re looking at, you know, a 20 minute cook time for some things where this Unox speed with the fans and the technology can cut that nearly in half,” Michael McClenahan, the executive chef for the Good Samaritan Society of South Dakota and North Dakota, said…
