Savannah Guthrie Vows to Keep Searching for Missing Mother on Mother’s Day

Savannah Guthrie, the 54-year-old “Today” show anchor, shared a heartfelt message on Mother’s Day about her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for over three months. Nancy, 84, vanished from her Arizona home under suspicious circumstances, with authorities suspecting she was taken against her will.

In an emotional Instagram post, Guthrie wrote, “Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie − we miss you with every breath. We will never stop looking for you.

We will never be at peace until we find you.” She accompanied her words with a touching video montage featuring family photos and footage of her mother, including moments they shared together.

Guthrie also urged the public to come forward with any information, reminding them that tips can remain anonymous and that a reward of up to $1 million is being offered. “We need help.

Someone knows something that can make the difference,” she said. She concluded her message with a plea: “Please keep praying.

Bring her home.”

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of January 31, with her disappearance reported on February 1. The FBI released images from the day she went missing, showing an armed individual tampering with her home’s security camera, but the suspect has yet to be identified. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the case.

Following her mother’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie took a leave from the “Today” show but returned to the anchor desk on April 6. In a candid interview with Hoda Kotb before her first day back, Guthrie reflected on the challenge of returning to work amidst personal tragedy.

“It’s hard to imagine doing it, because it’s such a place of joy and lightness,” she said. “I can’t come back and try to be something that I’m not.

But I can’t not come back, because it’s my family. I think it’s part of my purpose right now.

I want to smile. And when I do, it will be real.

My joy will be my protest. My joy will be my answer.

And being there is joyful.”

Recent developments in the investigation have been limited. On May 7, the Tucson Police Department confirmed the discovery of a human bone roughly seven miles from Nancy’s home. However, the bone was determined to be prehistoric and unrelated to the case.

The search for Nancy Guthrie remains active, with law enforcement and her family urging anyone with information to reach out to the FBI.
