Changes proposed for Prince William County’s student code of behavior, with emphasis on bullying and AI

Prince William County schools is considering several changes to its student code of behavior for the 2026-27 school year, primarily centered around clarifying definitions and streamlining the document.

Last year, the school system adopted the Student Behavior and Administrative Response Framework, which seeks to address student behavior from a holistic perspective. The framework provides both disciplinary consequences for student behaviors and interventions and support to address the root cause of student behaviors.

In developing the proposed code, the school system received feedback from a wide range of stakeholders, said Teresa Duvall, the director of the student hearings department. That includes feedback from multiple Superintendent’s Advisory Councils and student focus groups…
