BALTIMORE, MD—For many Maryland sports fans, the phrase “until death do us part” does not quite go far enough.
A new study released by SportsbookReview.com suggests that a significant number of supporters in the state view their favorite local stadiums as their preferred final resting places. According to a survey of more than 3,000 sports fans nationwide, Oriole Park at Camden Yards emerged as the top choice for Maryland residents asked where they would most like to have their ashes scattered.
The Baltimore baseball cathedral, which sparked a national trend toward “retro-classic” stadium design when it opened in 1992, edged out other local venues for the top spot.
