Attorney General Urges Hearing Health Awareness for National Observance

In observance of National Speech-Language-Hearing Month this May, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is calling on law enforcement officers, military members, and the general public to prioritize their auditory health. With nearly 50 million Americans—including approximately 15% of South Carolinians—experiencing some degree of hearing loss, Wilson emphasized the importance of regular screenings and the dangers of fraudulent products.

As a Colonel in the National Guard, Wilson highlighted the specific risks faced by those in high-noise environments, such as soldiers and police officers.
