Asheville police launch ‘Move Over or Get Pulled Over’ campaign

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Drivers across parts of western North Carolina will see increased traffic enforcement this week as Asheville police launch their annual “Move Over or Get Pulled Over” campaign.

The Asheville Police Department, in partnership with the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program, announced the statewide enforcement campaign begins Monday, May 11, and runs through Sunday, May 17, coinciding with National Police Week.

The effort is designed to raise awareness about North Carolina’s Move Over Law, which is intended to protect people working and stopped along the roadside, such as emergency responders and highway maintenance workers…
