ARAB, Ala. (WAFF) – Arab City Schools says it is “deeply saddened” by the death of Mrs. Joan Scott, a beloved teacher and longtime member of the school system.
The district says Scott served Arab City Schools for 66 years, retiring at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. During her career, she taught generations of students as a classroom teacher and later as a reading intervention specialist at Arab Primary School, helping children build the skills they needed to become confident readers.
