RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) – A Richmond mother was arrested after allegedly abandoning her children for hours.
The mother, 41-year-old Crystal Neal, left her four children, ages 11, 6, 5, and 2 at a residence they did not live at for several hours according to police. The 11 year old was apparently at the residence playing with a friend earlier in the morning, when Neal brought the others and dropped them off, saying she was “going to get the children McDonald’s.”
The homeowner called police, stating that Neal did not ask them to watch the children, nor did she say the children were being left at the home at all, according to authorities. During their unsupervised stay at the home, police say the two-year-old ran into the street and was nearly hit by a vehicle.
Police say they attempted to call Neal six times, while the 11-year-old tried three times with no answer. Officials say they were on the scene for 30 minutes before Neal returned, which was around three hours after she departed from the children…
