Booming Jefferson Parish coffee popup is opening its first shop in Metairie: ‘It’s all local’

A popular Jefferson Parish coffee trailer run by a mixed martial artist and his family is getting a major upgrade this month with the launch of its first brick and mortar location.

Rougabrew, a coffee popup named after the Cajun cryptid “Rougarou,” announced a plan to open its first location in the coming weeks at 1645 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, in the former Ash & Ollie’s Snowballs & Soft Serve building behind Bar 504.

The new storefront is already taking shape, with a new mural by Kenner tattoo artist Rich Sutton with cattails and mossy cypress trees painted in white with the letters “Rb” over a black brick exterior.

In the 15 months since launching the popup, its owners, Lafitte-based couple Vinh and Courtney Le, have amassed a loyal customer base and more than 13,000 followers on social media, where coffee lovers go to find the weekly schedules for where they’ll park the trailer on any given day…
