As anti-panhandling campaign returns to Sioux Falls, so does criticism

A campaign to prevent panhandling in Sioux Falls is again facing pushback. A small protest in the city continues the conversation about the campaign.

At the corner of South Phillips Avenue and West 11th Street in Sioux Falls on Thursday, three people held signs. One said “Unhoused Not Unhuman,” another “Housing First. Endhomelessness.org” and the last “Jesus Said Help the Poor.”

They’re here protesting because of a sign just behind them along Phillips Avenue. That sign says “Cash handouts don’t help. But You Can.” It provides a link to the Sioux Falls city government’s website…
