Summit Co. Sheriff sergeant placed on unpaid leave after strangulation, child endangerment charges

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A Summit County Sheriff’s Office sergeant was placed on unpaid administrative leave after he was indicted on strangulation, child endangerment and domestic violence charges.

According to Stark County Common Pleas Court records, on May 5, Joshua Bolinger, 44, was indicted on the following charges:

  • Three felony counts of strangulation
  • One felony count of child endangerment
  • One misdemeanor count of domestic violence

These charges stem from an incident on Feb. 7, according to the indictment.
