CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – An old program from 2008 to keep drivers, cyclists and pedestrians safe on the roads could be making a comeback.
Charlotte City Council’s Safety Committee voted on Monday May 11, to move forward with bringing back red light cameras.
There are 10 locations that are at the top of the priority list for cameras.
- Graham Sreet at Norris Avenue
- University City Boulevard at I-85 ramp
- Steele Creek Road at Westinghouse Boulevard
- North Tryon Street at University City Boulevard
- Central Avenue at Sharon Amity Road
- W.T. Harris Boulevard at North Tryon Sreet
- South Tryon Street at Arrowwood Road
- South Mint Street at West Boulevard
- Central Avenue at Kilborne Drive
- 36th Street at The Plaza
