Three felony charges have been filed by Newton and Colfax Police against a Des Moines man involved in a high-speed police chase last week. Court records show 35-year-old Troy Allen Kifer is facing class D felonies for interference with official acts involving a dangerous weapon and two counts of eluding at a speed over 25 mph above the limit.
On May 5th, a Colfax Police Officer spotted a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse at East State Street and League Road. The SUV was reported stolen out of Des Moines, so the officer chased the vehicle on State Street at speeds that allegedly exceeded 80 mph in 35 mph zones.
