The powerful reason this Northeast Ohio family donated $500,000 to a brand-new dental college

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Clarence McNair, 88, became a dentist in the 1960s at a time when few African Americans were admitted to dental school.

Now his family has made a $500,000 gift to the Bitonte College of Dentistry at Northeast Ohio Medical University in his honor, with the goal of opening doors for future generations of dentists.
