LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A West Columbia man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of assaulting his cellmate inside the Lexington County Detention Center, the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced Tuesday.
David E. Bender, 43, was convicted April 15 of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature following a jury trial in Lexington County, according to prosecutors.
