CYNTHIANA, Ky. (FOX 56) — The family of an 84-year-old man is suing a Cynthiana nursing home, alleging neglect led to severe medical complications and the amputation of his leg.
According to a lawsuit filed in Harrison Circuit Court, Lawrence Cline’s left leg was amputated above the knee last year after he developed a severe bone infection and bedsores allegedly infested with maggots while living at Edgemont Healthcare, also known as Edgemont Manor, in Cynthiana.
The lawsuit accuses Edgemont of negligence and failing to properly care for Cline. The healthcare center carries a single-star rating on Medicare’s website.
