MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man was arrested after deputies say he brought a stolen gun to 201 Poplar on Monday morning.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 9:45 a.m. to a weapons law violation at the courthouse.
Security officers identified the man as Nigel Harper, 26, who entered with a backpack that was run through an X-ray machine. Guards said they saw large tools in the bag and told Harper he could not bring it inside.
According to security, Harper left the building, placed the backpack outside, and re-entered through the checkpoint before going to his courtroom. A short time later, guards reviewed the X-ray image again and noticed what appeared to be a firearm…
