Suspect allegedly stole over $20,000 from victim’s bank account, APD says

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman suspected of stealing more than $20,000 from a victim’s bank account using a fake ID and stolen financial information.

The incidents occurred Feb. 23 at two Frost Bank locations, one at 2425 Exposition Blvd. in Austin and another at 5656 Bee Cave Road in West Lake Hills, between 2:30 and 4 p.m., according to the Austin Police Department.

Detectives believe the victim’s wallet was stolen from her purse while she was shopping. The suspect then used stolen credit cards, bank account information and a fake ID bearing the victim’s details and the suspect’s photograph to impersonate the victim at the banks…
