Green Bay names 2 internal finalists for fire chief

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The Green Bay Police and Fire Commission is looking to hire its next fire chief internally.

Earlier this year, Matthew Knott announced he would be stepping away from his position as chief of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department to prioritize his family.

On Tuesday, the commission revealed the two finalists for Knott’s replacement:

  • Ray Fuiten, a 21-year GBMFD veteran, who currently serves as assistant chief of operations and interim co-chief
  • Eric Jeltema, a 21-year GBMFD veteran, who currently serves as assistant chief of EMS, training and support services and interim co-chief
