Air Support Unit helps Portland officers in stolen car, reckless driving arrests

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – The Portland Police Bureau’s Air Support Unit (ASU) assisted officers in making two separate arrests late Monday night.

The first arrest happened after 10 p.m. when police said a man stole a car in the area of Southwest 4th Avenue and Southwest Washington Street. The ASU followed the car on Interstate 84 into northeast Portland.

Officers took the suspect, 41-year-old Javier Rodriguez, into custody near Northeast 97th Avenue and East Burnside Street…
