Cheatham County honors former sheriff John Holder

The Cheatham County Commission met April 20 and presented resolutions honoring former Cheatham County Sheriff John Holder.

Holder, who owned the Holder Phillips 66 service station in Ashland City until 1987, served with both the Ashland City Police Department and the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, including four elected terms as sheriff from 1998 to 2014.

The resolution listed Holder’s accomplishments while in office, including acquiring a state grant to implement a fingerprint scanning system and the Child ID program for better security at the county schools.
