DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Clark County Coroner has announced her sudden resignation, which will take effect on May 22.
Coroner Susan Brown said she did not choose to resign lightly, but is doing so because a family member of hers is facing health complications. She said she has been privileged to serve the county and thanked the commissioners for their understanding.

“I’m writing to announce my resignation from my position as the Clark County, Ohio Coroner, effective May 22, 2026. Please know that this decision (based on family illness) was not made lightly and comes after careful consideration. It has been my privilege to serve Clark County. Thank you for your understanding in this matter,” wrote Brown.
