CCSO says there will be an increased police presence near Clay High School due to ‘disturbing comment’ on social media

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said there will be an increased law enforcement presence near Clay High School out of precaution due to a “disturbing comment” a student made on a social media post.

Principal Halter sent a message to parents saying that the district received a tip through the Fortify Florida app regarding the comment. Halter also said that the student will not be attending school.

Please be assured that we take every threat, even implied ones, with the utmost seriousness. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified and is currently investigating the matter. We have identified the student involved, and I want to state clearly that this individual will not be attending school tomorrow…
