CANTON, Ohio — Brian Francisco II, the suspect in an active shooter incident at Versailles Gardens Apartments, has filed a not guilty by reason of insanity plea.
According to Stark County Common Pleas Court records, his attorney filed the plea on May 11. In addition, the defense is ordering a third independent psychological evaluation of Francisco.
The filing states that the defendant’s counsel believes the two prior evaluations are “misinterpreting the Ohio standard.”…
