Canton Man Committed to Heartland for Hospital Incident

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A 36-year-old Canton man who grabbed the handle of a security guard’s gun and shot an Aultman Hospital employee last June has been committed to a Massillon mental health facility.

James Fair must remain at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare until he is no longer mentally ill.

The order came from Common Pleas Judge Frank Forchione who also judged in February that Fair was not guilty by reason of insanity to a felonious assault charge…
