Trussville Development Debate Sparks Concerns Over Traffic, Transparency

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WBMA) — A proposed residential development tied to a new school site drew passionate public feedback and sparked debate during the Trussville City Council meeting Tuesday night.

At the center of the discussion is a plan by DDB Capital to develop property off Camp Coleman Road, paired with a land development agreement and rezoning request that remain in early stages of approval.

Development Proposal and School Land

The proposal includes a residential subdivision on the Riggins property, along with a commitment from the developer to donate land for a future school.

“We’re talking about a very beautiful piece of land — the Riggins property,” said City Council President Jaime Anderson. “We’re also talking about the 25 acres that are being donated with this development for the building of a new school, which we desperately need in Trussville.”…
