Columbus Police Department warns community about vehicle break-ins

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A reminder for Columbus-area locals: Lock your vehicles.

The Columbus Police Department (CPD) says vehicle break-ins tend to go up as the warmer summer months hit, although as CPD’s Lt. Jane Edenfield explained, these incidents are “through the roof year round.”

Edenfield said, “Anytime we have spring break of school’s out for summertime, of course we’re going to see a little bit of an increase but it is steady and it is high and it’s mostly juveniles.”…
