SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A Johnston County student has been selected as part of the Morehead-Cain Foundation’s Class of 2030 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, joining a competitive national cohort of 69 scholars.
Anya Sabina Muminovic, a senior at Smithfield-Selma Senior High School, is among students chosen from 33 North Carolina counties, 15 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and seven countries.
Muminovic has been active in academics, athletics, and student leadership throughout high school. She serves as president of the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, vice president of her senior class, and is a member of the Unified Club.
