2 dead, child taken to hospital in Gurley train crash

GURLEY, Ala. (WAFF) – Two were killed, and a pediatric child is in critical condition after a train/vehicle collision occurred in Gurley Wednesday evening.

According to Don Webster with HEMSI, the crash happened in the area of the train crossing near the Vulcan entrance on Salty Bottom Road and Hwy 72 around 6:13 p.m.

A HEMSI crew is currently transporting a female child to Huntsville Hospital Women’s and Children’s. She is expected to survive.

Webster said Huntsville Fire, Huntsville Police, ALEA, Gurley Police, Gurley Fire, and the Madison County Rescue Squad are all currently on the scene…
