Huntsville Utilities sues 3M over chemical contamination

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Huntsville Utilities has filed a lawsuit against 3M and several smaller companies over forever chemicals in the Tennessee River.

The lawsuit claims the companies have done nothing to clean up chemicals that get into the water system, even after years of promises to do something.

Huntsville Utilities’ current filtration systems are not capable of removing these chemicals from its raw water, according to the lawsuit. The suit adds that the current treated water coming out of the system exceeds the maximum contamination levels set by the EPA…
