Coast Guard sets St. Johns River safety zone for swim portion of IRONMAN race

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The IRONMAN triathlon will bring thousands to Jacksonville on Saturday, prompting city officials and the U.S. Coast Guard to restrict access to a section of the St. Johns River for the 2.4-mile swimming portion of the race.

The U.S. Coast Guard of Jacksonville has implemented a safety zone that will go into effect from 7 – 11 a.m. along the St. Johns River within the following coordinates:
