CONYERS — Amelia Been was recognized by the Conyers City Council during its May 6 work session after winning the district-wide eighth grade oratorical competition hosted by the National Council of Negro Women.
Been, a Conyers Middle School student, delivered an original speech titled “Woman, the Foundation of Our Society, and the Global Leaders of Today,” focusing on women’s leadership, resilience and contributions throughout history.
