‘Almost inexplicable’ – Judge sentences Mobile man to life for ‘so unnecessary’ murder

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile County Circuit Judge Michael Youngpeter accepted the recommendation of prosecutors and sentenced Nyyon Elijah Sanders to life in prison for a fatal shooting in 2022.

A jury last month found the 20-year-old Mobile man guilty of murdering D’Angelo Wallace during a dispute on Navco Road.

“It was so unnecessary,” Youngpeter said. “It’s almost inexplicable that murders happen for almost no reason.”…
